Kent, Mariam and co.

We are finally home from Arizona.  We went for my grandmother's funeral.  The funeral was really nice, and was a good experience.  Although the funeral is the reason we went, I don't have any pictures, but I do have lots of other pictures.  The following posts are from our trip to Arizona.   On a side note, I have to thank my cousin for letting us stay in her guest house and taking such good care of all of us.  

We were able to spend a day and a half at the cabin.  It is one of my favorite places on earth.   Here K is getting a scrub in the big laundry room sink.  There are pictures of all of us getting a bath in that sink.   D remembered feeding the ducks at the cabin, so we had to do it again.  It was a little cold, but the kids had so much fun.   The hammock is another favorite at the cabin.  I am so glad we were able to spend a little quiet time there.  

Lizzie kept busy working with Zipper (renamed Zippy by Kate) the horse.  She went ridding every morning, she took the kids with, when they were awake.   D learned how to take care of a horse after a ride.  Zippy was really hairy too.  He was in-between his winter and summer coat. K LOVED the baby cow.  One way to get her going was a promise to see the baby cow.   D refused to get a picture with great grandpa.  Here K and I are with my mom's dad.  He is getting frail, but he is doing so well, especially for his recent loss.  This is such a cute picture of me, ha- anyway, here we are with my dad's mother.  Grandma did surprisingly well while we were there.  She has Alzheimer's, and any time she vaguely remembers us is a good one.

K had a really fun birthday while we were in Arizona.   So many shoes, so little time.  What's a girl to do.    Princess tea party Talking to Daddy on the phone.  She wanted to show him her pretty princess hat. We told Lizzie that she had to dress-up to have a cookie at the party. Overall, it was a fun little party.  The girls had fun playing dress up, having a tea party, having their toenails and fingernails painted, and watching Cinderella.  K is turning into such a sweet little girl. K is such a sweet little princess.  We love having her in our family so much.  She is so much fun.  She still loves to snuggle, and she loves to be all girly.  I just can't believe she is already 2.  

We celebrated easter the day after Grandma's funeral.  The family stayed in my cousins guest house, and she and her family were so good to us.  Here are a few pics. Easter baskets for K, Madison and D.  My cousins oldest daughter was such a sweetheart,  she helped us out so much.  She was so excited to learn how to make grandma's famous fried chicken.  She wasn't afraid of the slime, jumped right in and learned how to cut up a chicken with my mom. The Easter egg hunt was so much fun.  K had so much fun, but she was happiest to sit down and eat her loot rather than hunt for more. D had lots of fun playing with all the kids and hunting for eggs.  I think the re-hid and found the eggs about 5 times.   Some how this dove flew into my van, (yep, it's inside).  Someone said, hey it's a symbol of peace.  I just didn't want a piece of symbol in my van.

Amanda's little guy turned 1, and since she is busy with school, being a mommy and running some of my errands, I thought I would post some of the highlights.    Amanda made a cute giant cupcake for L, and he was sooo excited.  He was a little tentative to dive right in, but he got the hang of it really soon. This gift bag was one of his favorite presents, (it just goes to show, never spent too much on kids).  The Pooh was on a little spring.  This car seat cover was his very favorite present.  He was kind of sleepy and he wanted to snuggle right in.  This is a cute picture of K and my parents.  She hugged that bag of pom-poms all the way home. This picture is for dad.  D really enjoyed the doughnuts.

K has been such a little sweetie lately.  Her beautiful red hair is finally growing in and she loves all the attention she gets.  She is such a pretty little princess. We took a trip to the Logan Temple today, while it was closed.  We took some cute pictures of the kids, and we talked to the kids about the importance of the temple.  Here K is touching the temple. We did not get very many pictures of D, he was too busy running around and playing.   I hope that someday we will see this picture again.  A father walking his daughter to the temple. One reason we went to see the temple is to remind the kids and ourselves of the importance of the work that goes on there and remember our how much our Heavenly Father loves us.  My grandmother passed away Sunday.  She was 90, but her passing was sudden and surprising.  I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the knowledge that this life is just one step in the process.  There is a life here after, and I will see her again.   Not onl...
