Kent, Mariam and co.

I don't want to trivialize all the fun things we did this past week, but it ended with the biggest event.  So here are a few highlights.  We went to the Dinosaur Park with some good friends.  D thought it was cool, but he didn't want to stand too close to the skeletons.  Sharp claws.  K HATED the dinosaurs.  She hid her head and tried to ignore it all.   K did find something she did like.  She is a girl after her mom's heart, she LOVED the SPARKLING JEWLES.   We went to the annual county fair.  It is little and fun, just the right size for kids.  We saw the animals, had some fresh doughnuts, and rode a few rides.   So if you are squeamish, now is a good time to STOP READING.  Our biggest event happened a few days ago at Grandma's house.  D and K were playing with a hula hoop, and D pulled it a little to hard.  K hit the floor and spit her little chin open.  We rushed to the pediatric clinic, (they stayed open just for us) and got her stitched up.     So you might be won...

My hobby is reaching new levels of insanity.  I do spend way too much time with pliers and wire in my hands, but some of my latest creations are so fun.  Well, at least they are fun to me.   I was looking for a fun way to create jewelry without having to buy lots of pieces.  So, these necklaces are all hand made.  Well, I didn't make the metal, but the rest was me.   This is how it all began a few days ago.  I started bending the wire to make these little curves.  It was so much fun I had to make this design in all the different colors of wire I had.   I then though, I could put the curves together and make a circle.  Here it is.  I like the bright pink with the black.  I think it is a fun, modern look.   Then, I saw these cool bird nests online.  I thought I would give it a try.  I am still experimenting with the design, but I think they look okay.  The kids thought they looked like birds nests, so hopefully they look like right.   Thanks for indulging me in my obsession.  I was j...

I saw this on my friend Teresa's blog a few weeks ago and I thought it looked like fun.  So, here goes 6 quirky things about me.   1.  I sing all the time.  Not too strange right.  Well, I sing little jingles that I made up all day long.  Everyone and everything in our house has a theme song.  I'm not kidding. We often sing the Kirby song, or the We love dad song, occasionally we even sing the "Pork chops are the only Pork chops" song (from when I was 6) complete with JAZZ HANDS.  All simple little tunes by yours truly.   2.  I rarely make my bed.  I just don't see the point.  My bed is where I snuggle with K and tickle D, and it is just to frustrating to make it over and over.  It might be lazy, but there it is.   3.  I don't read.  Not that I can't or don't really want to... it is just that I am incapable of doing anything else except READ THE BOOK, when I try to read a book.  Reading just makes me a bad mom/wife.  And, I don't find it as relaxin...

After taking Uncle Josh to the airport, we took advantage of the great summer weather and played in the water fountains at the Gateway center.  D had a blast.   We met some of our friends and the little boys all had so much fun in the water.  It is always fun to watch their amusement at the simplest things.    Here are the boys laying down on top of the water spouts. The water was too scary for K, she just admired the pretty flowers and posed.  For all of you who wonder what it is like to have a little red head, here it is.  Random Asian tourist posing for a picture with my very white, red headed daughter.  I never thought hair would get so much attention.  After all the fun in the water was done, we took the kids to McDonald's.  I think we stayed there for a few hours.  They all had fun, and the moms (and Lizzy) got a chance to chat awhile.   Ahhh, it is so nice to have a little summer fun.  

Kent and I were married 9 years ago today in the Idaho Falls Temple.  The past couple years have had many ups and downs, just like everyone.  We have grown to love one another more and we look forward to many more decades to come.   I thought I would share a few of my most memorable moments with Kent.   I have never seen Kent more excited than the day we had our first baby.  When I was in the final stages of labor with D, Kent got soooo excited.  His face was actually lit up with joy.  It actually made me start chuckling (while I was pushing).  I think that happiness and excitment wore off on our son.  He came to us all smiles.  I know that they say babies can't smile, but he did, and often.   I love watching Kent play with the kids.  He loves to play, and the kids love it too.  They all get so excited when they hear the car pull in.  Fun time. Okay, so we were actually indoors, but we still enjoyed nature on our little outing.  We stayed at a family friend's "cozy" cabin in Alpine Wy.  We started out cleaning up a bit.  K thought mopping was super fun. D had lots of fun ridding 4-wheelers with uncle Kody.  We all had fun driving down to the lake and running the dogs.  Kirby is not much of a swimmer, but he is quite the runner.  We were able to get him up to 20 mph fairly comfortably.   K and Lizzy chill'n at the lake With one bathroom in the cabin we had to improvise.  K had to use the ravioli can several times. For all of you wondering, "What in heck is Wheat and Beet Days", it is our little town's annual celebration.  I love it.  It is one of the fun things about living in a small town.   The celebration starts with a little parade.  It is so much fun to see all the local businesses,  organizations and people.  The kids love the candy.   K decided her "princess"pioneer hat would be best.  I liked her choice, it has the best sun coverage. D got to BE IN the parade.  Apparently he did fall off, with no injures.  Aside from that, he had a blast throwing candy and waving to everyone.  (P.S. it was our neighbors fire truck) The Fireman's water fight is always a blast.  The fire-trucks all come out and soak everyone.  D jumped right in.  K thought it looked like fun and soon joined all the action.    The kids came back soaking wet and happy.  This pic is just to give you an idea of the scale of the water fight.  Oh, the best part is the ball field where the water fight ...
