Kent, Mariam and co.

We just got back from the perinatologist and I am so happy. As of last week, they said they would only let me go to 30 weeks before they took our little guy, now they said that I might be able to go to 37 weeks!!! Such an improvement. He is growing (still small, but growing for his size) The blood flow issue also looks markedly better. The Dr. told me to keep taking whatever magic pills I was taking. We are still likely to have a premature baby, but his odds are looking better everyday. I know what really worked. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support.

It is Red Ribbon week at school, so D has dressed up in different ways all week. Today was career day. I asked D what he wanted to be when he grew up, he said, "A teacher like Daddy.". (I am sure it warmed Kent's heart to know his little guy thinks he is cool. ) When D came home from school today, he was telling me about all the other kids and what they wanted to be when they grew up. I asked if he told everyone what he wanted to be when he grew up. Enthusiastically he said, "Yep, I told them I wanted to be a cemetery teacher" When I chuckled he said, "What, that's what daddy is, a cemetery teacher." I just smiled and said, yes it is son. Kids are always good for a laugh. And I have to agree with him. Sometimes High school kids are scary, and other times you think your class might just be dead. Happy Halloween everyone.

We just got back from the perinatologist and things look pretty good. He is still a little guy, but not as bad as we thought. There is a concern with the blood flow from the placenta, and that is probably why he is little. But, the Dr. was very optimistic that with extra supervision things should be just fine. On the plus side, he gets to have his picture taken more than other babies. Thank you for all of your love and support.

We thought we would share the latest photos of our little guy. He seems to have a little round head and sweet little Danish cheeks. He also has a little round nose, just like our other babies. He was a little photo shy, and kept is hands up around his face and he kept turning his head into the placenta. But, he was not shy about his manhood. He very proudly displayed that he is in-fact a BOY. Not all the news was good however. It looks like he is not developing as much as he should. He is very healthy, but a month behind schedule. It was a concern earlier in the pregnancy, and it appears to be getting worse. We are concerned, of course, but are trying to remain optimistic. We are going for a more in-depth ultrasound tomorrow, and hope that we will get some answers. I recently had an experience that reminded me how precious each life is. A dear friend of mine lost her beautiful baby shortly after delivery. It reminded me how wonderful the plan of salvation is. I was remind...
