A bit of everything

Here are a few highlights of our holidays.
Mom, Lizzy, K and I went to a local production of the Nutcracker in Ogden. K was sooooo, excited. She danced around for days humming the different Nutcracker tunes. She was excited to put on her special new fancy dress (made to her specifications, no zippers or buttons, long enough to reach her toes and a pretty bow) and go have a girly night.
It doesn't look like it in this picture, but she was so excited. (She was just angry that we took her out of the theater to take a picture). She was so excited when the lights dimmed and the music started that she started shaking. So cute.
K loved the show (it was definitely an amateur production, and we had a laugh at some of the show). She also loved going out to dinner after the show. The giant fudge pie was her favorite. The rest of us loved the bread pudding (at Union Station if you were wondering).
Here we are at our Christmas Eve gathering at Aunt DeAnna's. There were 3 families altogether. I was nervous about the 11 kids causing chaos, but everything was fantastic. The kids were well behaved and had fun together, the food was great and being together as a family was fun.
Of course no matter how much fun you have, there is always a limit to how much fun you can take in one day. (My friend Kinsey made the little purse, she has hardly been without it)
We spent Christmas morning at our house and had a nice quiet Christmas. K got a beautiful new dress and purse from Santa. As soon as she opened it she wanted to put it on. I love this picture, she still has that dazed just woke up look, but she is sure she is soooo glamourous.
D gambled that we would buy a Wii for the family fro Christmas and asked Santa for Wii games. He started to get a little nervous when we were all done opening presents and there was still no Wii, but we pulled out the surprise present at the end, and he was thrilled.
On New Year's Day we went sledding with our friends. Everyone had lots of fun.
Kirby had the biggest workout of the day, we hooked him up to the sleds and he carried them back up the hill for us. It was a big job for our little dog.
K was SUPER excited to go to Sunbeams on Sunday. She danced around the house singing, "I'm gonna be a Sunbeam! I'm gonna be a Sunbeam!" Here she is in her new Christmas dress (0r most beautiful dress in the whole world ever, if you ask her) showing me how excited she was for Sunbeams.
D reminded us that he was changing classes too, so we got a picture of the two of them together. (I know I am biased, but darn they are cute)
All in all, we had a fun, relaxing and wonderful Holiday Season. Now to get back into life. The good news is we will start the adventure of a new baby in about a month. I have finally started to make preparations for our new son, I'll have to blog about that later.

Hope all of you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Keep singing until the end of the song

Since my last post we lost 2 more precious babies.  On September 30, 2016 we lost our beautiful baby girl Felicity at 5 months.  Almost a year later, we found out we were expecting agin.  Sadly on Dec.1, 2017 we lost our little boy, Elijah.  I need to write their stories, but the feelings and emotions are still very raw and difficult.  While I hope to share them someday, today is not that day. Today is December 21, just a few more days until Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas.  The lights, smells, delicious food, family and friends, and especially the music.  I love to sing Christmas songs and look forward to it every year.  But this year it was hard to sing the songs I love so much.  This year singing about the miraculous birth brought sadness and even anger.  I have struggled to feel the Christmas Spirit. I imagine it is difficult to experience any loss during the Christmas season.  A holiday that focuses so much on family, fri...

Disneyland and California

Wow, what a fun adventure we had. It was a perfect vacation. Everything was fantastic, and we had a blast. Here is a quick little run down. (the pics are not in order, sorry). Here is the mandatory picture of the kids in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Just a cute picture of K up in a tree house on pirate island (formerly Tom Sawyer's island) One of the biggest highlights of the trip was D being chosen to participate in Jedi training camp. He was so excited he was actually shaking. It was AWESOME. He got to learn some Jedi moves from a Jedi master, and then he got to fight Darth Vader. It was really fun, he is still talking about it. Here we are on one of the Bug's Life rides in California Adventures. The highlight for K was seeing and talking to real princesses. She was nervous at first, but quickly warmed up. She was so cute and sweet, it almost made me cry (the 2 hr. wait in line cured me of any tears). She kept telling us how Belle had a dress "all the...

The joy of family pictures

Why is it so hard to get a good family picture.  I would be happy if everyone just looked at the camera.  Here are our latest pics. This was our best family picture.  As you will see, K did not want to cooperate.     Isn't that fun.  All the crying and the whining, and that was just Kent.   The kids and the dog took some cute pictures.   Kent and I did okay.  Together we were a mess.  By the way, this is the picture I ended up using to represent our family.  It seemed the most fitting.   Someday, (sigh) someday we will have a great family picture.
