Gosh I love this little face. H has been a lot of work but so much fun lately. I love the way he peeks around the corner and gives me a big scrunchy nosed grin when he sees me. He has also learned how to be a bit of a tease and seems to have a little sense of humor already.
I love to watch him learn about everything around. He watches everything and then tries to do everything (sometimes not such a great thing). I found him walking along the back of the couch the other day (the very back of the couch). Now that the weather is nice, outside is full of even more adventure. Everything is new, exciting and fun. Messes and chaos usually follow, but the fun is worth it. (Here's hoping he doesn't figure out the door knob this year)
So, what happened at church you ask? I wasn't feeling well, so Kent came home from meetings early to help get the kids ready for church. H was the only one not dressed. So, Kent dressed him, I finished getting ready and we left for church. Kent carried H for me, and when we got to church I decided that I would keep him with me. Kent put him down in the Relief Society room and left. My little runner decided to split. I reached down and scooped him up and horror swept over me.......
"HE DOESN'T HAVE A DIAPER ON!" I exclaimed as roars of laughter filled the room filled with women. How on earth did we get to church with no diaper? I quickly grabbed a diaper and took him to the mother's room to fix the problem.
Oh, it could have been catastrophic. What if I hadn't noticed? What if Kent had kept him? What if Kent had kept him and handed him off to another man while he took care of business? We just lucked out.
In Kent's defense, H did have a diaper on when he got him dressed. H just snuck downstairs and somehow managed to get it off and out through the leg of his onesie style romper (like a button-up shirt with legs in it). I am still not sure how he did it.
This kid is so much fun, despite the diaper scares. He is such a momma's boy too. The picture above shows how he likes to hold me. He squishes his cheek into mine. You can't see the back, but he grabs a hand full of hair to pull me closer to him.
He loves his daddy too. I love his sweet little voice saying, "Daddy!" and then the sound of his little feet runny to see Kent when he comes home from work.
Everyday I am so grateful he is here with our family. He is my everyday miracle.
