We had a fun Halloween.  It was busy though, so I didn't get many pictures.  I was busy finishing chili when the trunk or treat started, so I was lucky to get the few pics I did get.

D was a Knight In Shinning Armor.  He thought he looked pretty heroic.  I made his chain mail helmet, and he hated it.  I made the first with a nose piece, that was a no go.  I stayed up until midnight Halloween Eve trying to finish crocheting the second hat, but it was too itchy
Here are my little prince and princess.  (By the way, Kirby was dressed like a knight too.  Complete with sword)
K was the beautiful Princess Cinderella.  She was  so cute prancing around and daintily holding up her dress while she walked.
While getting ready, K said, "Oh, my sliplers"  She ran back and got shoes.  When I put them on her she said, "They fits!  PERFECT".
We had a good Halloween.  (Uncle Mark and Aunt Cassie were there too, but I forgot to get pics of their kids. )  We went to the truck-or-treat, and then had a big chili feed.  Then D went to see a few elderly neighbors.  When we came home we were sure it was late and bedtime, it was only 6:30.   We all slept well when it was finally bedtime.

You are one dedicated mom to 1. make chain mail, and 2. stay up until midnight to crochet that head thingy. Wow, your kiddos will know they had a mom who loved them. (or was certifiably obsessive. J/K)

Keep singing until the end of the song

Since my last post we lost 2 more precious babies.  On September 30, 2016 we lost our beautiful baby girl Felicity at 5 months.  Almost a year later, we found out we were expecting agin.  Sadly on Dec.1, 2017 we lost our little boy, Elijah.  I need to write their stories, but the feelings and emotions are still very raw and difficult.  While I hope to share them someday, today is not that day. Today is December 21, just a few more days until Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas.  The lights, smells, delicious food, family and friends, and especially the music.  I love to sing Christmas songs and look forward to it every year.  But this year it was hard to sing the songs I love so much.  This year singing about the miraculous birth brought sadness and even anger.  I have struggled to feel the Christmas Spirit. I imagine it is difficult to experience any loss during the Christmas season.  A holiday that focuses so much on family, fri...

Disneyland and California

Wow, what a fun adventure we had. It was a perfect vacation. Everything was fantastic, and we had a blast. Here is a quick little run down. (the pics are not in order, sorry). Here is the mandatory picture of the kids in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Just a cute picture of K up in a tree house on pirate island (formerly Tom Sawyer's island) One of the biggest highlights of the trip was D being chosen to participate in Jedi training camp. He was so excited he was actually shaking. It was AWESOME. He got to learn some Jedi moves from a Jedi master, and then he got to fight Darth Vader. It was really fun, he is still talking about it. Here we are on one of the Bug's Life rides in California Adventures. The highlight for K was seeing and talking to real princesses. She was nervous at first, but quickly warmed up. She was so cute and sweet, it almost made me cry (the 2 hr. wait in line cured me of any tears). She kept telling us how Belle had a dress "all the...

The joy of family pictures

Why is it so hard to get a good family picture.  I would be happy if everyone just looked at the camera.  Here are our latest pics. This was our best family picture.  As you will see, K did not want to cooperate.     Isn't that fun.  All the crying and the whining, and that was just Kent.   The kids and the dog took some cute pictures.   Kent and I did okay.  Together we were a mess.  By the way, this is the picture I ended up using to represent our family.  It seemed the most fitting.   Someday, (sigh) someday we will have a great family picture.
