A few of my favorite things

Although things are going fantastic for my little family (including our baby who is now miraculously super healthy, seriously like a different baby) I have been on again off agin sick for the past month. It is always hard to be sick, but pregnant sick is the worst. So uncomfortable with the growing belly and body aches, coughing fits make me throw-up, not to mention the fatigue. But this post is not about complaining. Because I have been very blest, even if I have been sick....

Since I can't go into public much, my computer is my window to the outside world. So, today I thought I would share some of my favorite crafty type websites with all of you. Now you will know my secrets, I am not really that creative, I just steal other people's ideas.

The first site is probably my favorite. one pretty thing. This is just a fantastic compilation of lots of other websites. It is changes daily +++ so there is always new stuff to look at and dream about making. It also covers a wide range of creative topics: food, sewing, jewelry, kids crafts etc. Lots of fun.

you can make it , and the idea room are other great sites. Like one pretty thing, it is usually ideas from other sites, but it is usually one idea at a time and they do their own fun tutorials too.

These are just sites I like to get ideas from time to time:
crafty_crow-(a good friend sent me this one, it has great kid craft ideas)

I think the list is always growing, but these are a few of my favs. I haven't felt well enough to do too much with my crafty day dreams, but it does keep me thinking. Hope you enjoy. And, please act surprised if you see anything familiar Christmas morning.

Sick and pregnant is not fun. Are you guys actually going to be able to enjoy the holidays? I sure hope you get some great luck with health and low stress soon.

I LOVE finding new crafty sites to inspire. Ucreate (http://kari-youcanmakeit.blogspot.com/) is one of my favorites. I'm off to check off your sites too!

Keep singing until the end of the song

Since my last post we lost 2 more precious babies.  On September 30, 2016 we lost our beautiful baby girl Felicity at 5 months.  Almost a year later, we found out we were expecting agin.  Sadly on Dec.1, 2017 we lost our little boy, Elijah.  I need to write their stories, but the feelings and emotions are still very raw and difficult.  While I hope to share them someday, today is not that day. Today is December 21, just a few more days until Christmas.  I LOVE Christmas.  The lights, smells, delicious food, family and friends, and especially the music.  I love to sing Christmas songs and look forward to it every year.  But this year it was hard to sing the songs I love so much.  This year singing about the miraculous birth brought sadness and even anger.  I have struggled to feel the Christmas Spirit. I imagine it is difficult to experience any loss during the Christmas season.  A holiday that focuses so much on family, fri...

Disneyland and California

Wow, what a fun adventure we had. It was a perfect vacation. Everything was fantastic, and we had a blast. Here is a quick little run down. (the pics are not in order, sorry). Here is the mandatory picture of the kids in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Just a cute picture of K up in a tree house on pirate island (formerly Tom Sawyer's island) One of the biggest highlights of the trip was D being chosen to participate in Jedi training camp. He was so excited he was actually shaking. It was AWESOME. He got to learn some Jedi moves from a Jedi master, and then he got to fight Darth Vader. It was really fun, he is still talking about it. Here we are on one of the Bug's Life rides in California Adventures. The highlight for K was seeing and talking to real princesses. She was nervous at first, but quickly warmed up. She was so cute and sweet, it almost made me cry (the 2 hr. wait in line cured me of any tears). She kept telling us how Belle had a dress "all the...

The joy of family pictures

Why is it so hard to get a good family picture.  I would be happy if everyone just looked at the camera.  Here are our latest pics. This was our best family picture.  As you will see, K did not want to cooperate.     Isn't that fun.  All the crying and the whining, and that was just Kent.   The kids and the dog took some cute pictures.   Kent and I did okay.  Together we were a mess.  By the way, this is the picture I ended up using to represent our family.  It seemed the most fitting.   Someday, (sigh) someday we will have a great family picture.
