Easter Fun

We had lots of fun playing with Grams and Gramps during Easter break.  We haven't been up to their house since Christmas (yikes!), and it was so nice to see them again.    Bubby was pretty sure he could make a pretty egg too.  I love how hard he is working on coloring that egg.    Grams, D and cousin Ally dying easter eggs. Grams, cousin Mallory and K dying eggs. Cousins Kylie, Ally, baby Lily (behind the Dr. Pepper bottle) and Aunt Alane.  We had lots of fun coloring and dying eggs.  I forgot to get a pic of the finished product, but we had some really awesome eggs.    The kids looked great for Easter Sunday.  (Instructions found here here ) Unfortunately, it seems to be impossible to get a nice picture of 3 kids.  I made K's dress and the boys bow ties.  I think they looked fantastic.  While I was trying to get a pic of the kids, the sweet neighbor lady came over and took a family picture for us. ...

April happenings

April has been a pretty fun month so far, despite the non-stop rain.  I have been able to spend a little extra time with my youngest siblings.  They are both single (they are both awesome and attractive, just not in these particular pictures) and in college (ie, busy with studies and a social life outside of family), so spending time together is always fun.  I had played an April Foil's prank on Josh and Lizzy (put raw potatoes in with the cooked ones on their plate) and Lizzy thought it would be funny to get me back, so she sprayed whip cream on my face.  While she was busy trying to stay away from me, Josh got her in the back of the head with another can of cream.  That's when I stepped in and finished the job.  We were all really sticky that night....so was mom's kitchen.  This is my brother Josh.  He is funny and super smart.  I have to give him props because not only did he build this awesome death machine (he is taking K for a ride ...

A Princess turns 5

Okay, so I've been a little slow on this post.  Okay I've been really slow.   It is hard for me to believe that my little girl is 5 already (like a few weeks ago).  She is such a spunky, girly little thing and we love her so very much.  She loves everything princess, pink, glittery, girly, and fancy.  She is quite the tiny princess.    I made her a quick little skirt and shirt for her birthday outfit from the remnants of a skirt I made for my niece. Her big birthday request was to ride a horse.  We happen to live around lots of horse lovers, so we asked a neighbor if she would take K out on a horse.  Our neighbor SERIOUSLY LOVES horses and jumped at the opportunity.  We were worried the weather wouldn't allow us a nice ride, but it stopped raining just long enough for our sweet little K to ride to her hearts desire.  Her actual birthday was pretty hectic with school stuff, meetings and Young Men's stuff.  We tried to cele...

Kent the Great Donkey Ball Player

Kent had the opportunity to participate in the local FFA's Donkey Basketball game. It was lots of fun. My sister and her family went with us and all the kids had a blast. Bubby probably liked it the best. He just sat on the edge of my sister's knees and squealed everytime the donkeys went by. Then when someone made a basket, he would yell "yea" and clap. We all had fun, but Kent had tons of fun. enjoy.

Change is in the air

The kids have made some big changes this month. H has started to stand and take a few steps. He isn't sure he wants/needs to walk, so he is taking it slow (he is a FANTASTIC crawler and gets anywhere he wants). He is turning in to a toddler more and more everyday. He will not leave the dog food/water alone, loves exploring in the bathroom (i.e. MUST leave the lid on toilet down and door closed, now get the husband to do it), climbs the stairs, and has started coloring on things if he finds a pencil. Ya, life is getting more extreme with this little guy. K got a hair cut! It took a little convincing, but she finally took the plunge. She even did it on her own. I sent her to grandma's house, and I guess she asked grandma to cut it (luckily my mom knew I had just tried to get her to cut it earlier that day). She came home with this cute little bob. She loves that it is so fast to fix. I love that it is easy to fix AND looks so much thicker. There is hope for her hair ...

Happy Birthday Bubby

I can't believe my little guy is 1 already. He has grown into such a sweet little boy, and I am really enjoying being his mommy. We had a fun time celebrating this little milestone with a Milk and Cookies party at my mom and dad's home. Here is a picture of the hutch decorated with balloons, stars, cookie jars and pictures of my sweet little guy. We had a lunch of Swedish meatballs (one of H's faves), grommet pigs in a blanket (seriously, my dad made fancy bread wrapped hotdogs) and a few other finger foods. After we enjoyed a big cookie bar (2 types of oatmeal, chocolate chip, loaded chocolate chip, circus cookies, oreos, sugar cookies and pecan sandies). Of course we had lots of milk on hand. What's a cookie without milk? He had fun opening presents. He actually seemed to understand what to do, open the bag and find a surprise. He seemed to like his little scooter bike, it would only go backwards for him though. I was so excited to give him his birthday cake. I...

The joys of being a girl

My little K is a funny and funny little girl. I love her and her sweet little personality so much. She has always been a girly girl, and the older she gets the more extreme it gets. She wants to have a princess party for her birthday, and she asked for "you know those little sandwiches mom, that are like triangles, but little triangles not the big ones and the crusts are cut of, you know those, I want those sandwiches. And hot chocolate for the tea, because we don't drink tea so I think hot chocolate. Oh, and pretty cupcakes." She is always looking for the prettiest things. So, yesterday I went with my sister to ikea (aka mom Disneyland). When I came home I was flipping through the catalogue and K came to look too. We came to a page and I said, "Oh, there is the chandelier I want to get for your room when we move you and D." She informed me that wasn't a good picture, I agreed so we went to the computer to look it up. I clicked on "bedrooms...
